Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information fishtown.dev collects, why, and what we do with it. The site is run by Fishtown Development, a software studio in Philadelphia. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Fishtown Development. Questions go to hello@fishtown.dev.
What we collect
We collect only what you send us, plus the technical data any website needs to load.
- The project form on our home page asks for your name, your email, your business or website (optional), what you need, and a message.
- The FitKeyOS information form asks for your name, your studio or business, your email, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, type of studio, number of locations, the software you use today, what you want the software to handle, and a message.
- Email you send us at hello@fishtown.dev, with whatever you put in it.
- Technical data. Like every website, our servers receive your IP address and basic browser details when a page loads. We use your IP address for a short time to limit how many form submissions can come from one place. We do not save it in a database.
How we use it
We use what you send to read your enquiry, reply to you, and talk with you about a possible project. Form answers reach our team as an email. The website does not keep a copy of them in a database.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics scripts on this site.
If the form cannot send, the page offers to open your own email app with your answers filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send.
Visit counts on /doors
The /doors page counts visits and which door people open, so we can see if the page is useful. Each count stores only the event and the week it happened. It does not store your IP address, your browser details or a cookie. To count a visit once per session, the page saves one small value in your browser's session storage, which your browser clears when you close the tab.
Cookies and browser storage
Our public pages do not set cookies. The only browser storage on the public site is the /doors session value described above.
The site also hosts a password-protected preview area at /pulse for invited clients. If you sign in there, it sets two cookies that keep you signed in for up to 30 days, and it saves your light or dark display choice in your browser. When someone signs in, fails to sign in, or opens a preview page, we get a message in our team's Slack with the page, the browser and operating system type, and an approximate location (city, region and country) worked out from the IP address.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. Each one handles data only to provide its service to us.
- Vercel hosts the site and runs its forms and counters. Vercel processes every request to deliver the site, and stores the /doors counts.
- Resend delivers form submissions to our inbox as email, and sends us a weekly email with the /doors totals.
- jsDelivr serves the open-source animation scripts on our main pages. Your browser requests them from jsDelivr directly, so jsDelivr receives your IP address. The site works without them.
- Slack receives the /pulse preview activity messages described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on the /pulse preview pages only. Our public pages use fonts hosted on our own site.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and email for as long as we need them to reply, to work with you, or to keep proper business records, or as long as the law requires. The /doors counts hold no personal data.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@fishtown.dev and we will answer.
Children
This site is for business owners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our work pages link to sites we built for clients, and our footer links to other products. Those sites have their own privacy policies. This policy covers fishtown.dev only.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
